I am an Aries baby, born on 17 April 2013 at Thomson Medical Centre in the good hands of Dr Yvonne Chan. I love to lie on my tummy and do head lifts to amuse Mummy and Daddy.

about my parents

My daddy is a typical Gemini who can laugh heartily at one moment and become the incredible Hulk at the other.

My mummy is a kiasu Aries who wants me to learn one foreign language, one musical instrument and one martial arts ALL before I turn 21.

*really can't decide who's scarier*

My first kicks...
Written at Sunday, December 16, 2012 | back to top

After 21 weeks of trying to let Mummy feel my existence, I finally did it today!!!

Mummy was lying at the sofa, catching up on her soap opera when I thought that it was time for some snacks. So I mustered up all my strength and start to kick at Mummy's tummy.

Initially, Mummy thought that she must be imagining things and totally ignored me. I got so frustrated that I gave the hardest kick I could manage. And guess what?? Mummy saw my kick!

She started to yell for Daddy (who was in the room playing some games on his iPad) but by the time Daddy came out, I was already exhausted from my earlier efforts trying to get Mummy's attention.

Too bad for Daddy - he had his hand on Mummy's tummy for at least 10 minutes, hoping to feel my kick but  I was just too tired to continue! Perhaps thinking that I was playing hard to get, Daddy went back to the room to continue with his game. In actual fact, I was catching my breath and ready to give a few more kicks to demand for my food!

So when Mummy felt my desperate kicks, she yelled for Daddy again and this time, Daddy came out in rocket speed! He couldn't recognize my kicks like Mummy did though and it took him quite a while before he realized that the light tapping he felt was actually me!

By then, I had decided that the snacks weren't really worth my efforts and I was much better off curling in a corner of Mummy's tummy and getting my "hunk" sleep. (O.O) I'll get my snacks some other day!

I am sure I hear Daddy saying this every morning for the past 2 weeks, "Hello Evan! This is Daddy. Hello hello…" The thing is, I want to sleep in; especially when I am warm and comfy in Mummy's tummy.

I guess Daddy decided to try something different this morning, probably after Mummy asked if he had anything else to say instead of repeating the same thing every time.

So he went, "Hello Evan! This is not Mummy…". I was like (-_-") and immediately felt Mummy's tummy wobbling as she burst out in laughter.

Daddy kept going, "Hi Evan, can you hear Daddy? Hello?" and he even gave Mummy a nudge in an attempt to make me wriggle around. I refused to move an inch. I want my sleep. Please don't disturb.

After a few tries, Daddy finally gave up and said to Mummy, "Cannot already, time to use the ultimate weapon to make Evan move." Mummy was surprised that Daddy had something up his sleeve and asked him what it was.

Daddy then positioned his mouth closer to Mummy's tummy and went, "Hello Evan! This is Daddy. Hello hello…" and in an instant, my whole "water bed" went wobbly like it was experiencing an earthquake of the highest magnitude on the Richter scale.

Alright, alright. I am up already! Let me just wriggle my toes against Mummy to prove it. Can you please let me go back to sleep now? It's really funny what grown-ups can do to get attention sometimes.

~LOL~

20th week detailed scan
Written at Saturday, December 8, 2012 | back to top

After a looooong 5 weeks, I finally got to meet Daddy and Mummy again! =) I showed my excitement by wriggling my little feet and they thought I was doing some deep-diving. -.-"

Today's session with Dr Chan was slightly longer because she had to make sure all my organs are intact and growing well. There were lots of measurements - head & abdominal circumference, fermur & humerus length (that's thigh and arm length in layman's terms), blah blah blah...

I got restless soon and decided to amuse myself by making funny poses. Embarrassingly enough, I was caught in the act when I was half-way through my own adaptation of the Gangnam-style dance! (o.O)

The adults had a good laugh before Dr Chan resumed her checks, making sure that I've got structures such as a 4-chamber heart, 2 kidneys, a nicely-shaped spine and of course, that my anatomy is still there!

Most importantly, check out my pouty lips! See that arrow over there??? I'm so glad I've inherited Daddy's lips - should give me an advantage in future when I want things my way! =P

And to celebrate my 20th week, I've got a bag full of goodies from Dr Chan!!! Can't wait to try out some stuff there!

Mummy also went to collect the goodie bag that came with her FBI (First Born Incentive) membership with Thomson Medical Centre and although most of the stuff are really meant for Mummy, I spied the little blue bear that's got to be mine! Yippee! Another toy! =) I'm a very happy baby today!
